Queen of the High Street!

I make no secret of the fact that Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is one of my favourite stylish royals – in fact, she’s only just edged into second place by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. From her elegant, ivory duchesse silk wedding gown by Pär Engsheden, to her vibrant, princess-worthy gowns, and those tailored trouser suits that she absolutely rocks!!

And while she does look stunning in couture, and my personal favourite will always be this one-shoulder, beaded Elie Saab gown that she first debuted at her pre-wedding ball in 2010:

I also love how she is also not afraid to include more accessible pieces in her wardrobe.

On Saturday, she attended a gala celebrating the centenary of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in a metallic fringed jacket from Zara (sorry, it’s already sold out!). The jacket had a round neck, long sleeves, and hidden fastenings to the front, and looked perfect with the simple, wide-legged black trousers she paired it with. Finished off with black patent heels from Gianvito Rossi, an Aldo clutch, and Edblad jewellery, she looked incredibly stylish, with just a bit of an edge!

And it’s not the first time she’s gone high street by any means. For last year’s Nobel Laureate’s dinner at the Royal Palace, she wore a navy ruffled dress from H & M’s ‘Consicous Collection’, customised with a mesh overlay, and topped off with the Boucheron Laurel Wreath Tiara. And, back in 2015, she even attended her brother’s wedding to Sofia Hellqvist in a flowing, off-the-shoulder number from the Swedish fashion retailer, this time pairing it with the Connaught Diamond Tiara.

Proof you don’t need couture to shine. Some heirloom jewels probably help though!!
